a fairytale were a young girl is kidnapped and forced to marry a demon king and instead of being like no! never! shes like fine as long as i get to help you destroy and hes like lol cool but soon shes doing a bit too much and her husband king is like okay enough power and shes like bye see you in the dungeon and hes like what and hes dragged away cause now everyone is more loyal to her and she reigns over the underworld and the surface world with a cold iron fist
Why is it so easy to love and except everyone but yourself :'(?
because you are your biggest critic.
and tbh i don’t think it’s that easy to love and/accept everyone. i think people are expected to love and accept their peers, and i disagree with this.
your first and foremost love should be your own self, and it’s not easy. hell, it’s one of the hardest things anyone can ever do. but you do it step by step. wake up every morning and look at yourself dead in the eye in the small cracked mirror in your shitty bathroom and compliment yourself. say “hot damn you are looking fine”, or “hair game strong”, or even something really small, like wow that mole you usually hate on your lip actually doesn’t look half bad today.
fuck scales, your weight is only a number. it doesn’t measure anything more than how much effect gravity has on you. it doesn’t measure your worth, your beauty, how much love you have to offer people… you are worth what you do, not the amount of chocolate bars or salad leaves you consume.
get your butt off the computer once in a while. take a walk, whether it’s a two hour walk around the park or a thirty second jog around your room to get the feeling back into your butt. open your window and yell hello to the people outside, and if there’s no one out there, yell out your most embarrassing secret. who cares?
it’s a bit hypocritical of me to be saying this, but i’m trying. and that’s what you need to do too! love yourself for the little things, for smiling at someone having a bad day, or helping someone cross the street, or sitting next to a homeless person in the middle of winter to get them warm coffee and some company for an hour or so, and by the end of it, you’ll realize you love a whole bunch of things and that whole bunch of things adds up to you.
it is you. and you’ll realize that hey, you love you.
This was how the myth of Black criminality started, for the record. After the abolition of slavery, a lot of states made laws targeting Black people specifically, and then put them on chain gangs to get free labor from them.
Oh, and the US is still disproportionately incarcerating Black people and private prisons are making huge amounts off them.
so yeah. just in case anyone wanted to run away from this—straight from the text of the amendment:
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
talk about ways to say you changed anything without changing a goddamned thing.
